Artist's Statement

** NOTE: Sorry to say that I won't be participating because I am being displaced from my apartment (home is being sold by landlord). Which probably will end up being a zine in the future, hey! Anyway, do visit my studiomates at Washington St Studios, they are the greatest!!

Marissa Falco creates works in paper (zines, comics) and fibers (embroidery). She has been creating zines, most of them autobiographical, since 1995, and sewing since she was five years old. Her work explores dreams and daydreams, and documents travel and the magic of everyday events. Her embroidered work explores themes of pop culture, memory, and communication. She is a 2013 recipient of a Somerville Arts Council fellowship award.
