Artist's Statement

My work is driven by the process of building, layering , and then working back into what is laid down. There is a strong physicality in the art process which is a key element throughout my work. The colors are often of earth and aged materials giving each piece a connection to simple elements be it clay, brick ,wood or metal.

Although there are elements which may reflect architecture, geography or landscapes these mostly are secondary to the content. My belief by working with primarily abstract images is for the viewer to interact with the piece without any visual references of known objects. This creates a personal inner dialog between the viewer and the work of art.
