Artist's Statement

My paintings are an energetic dance of texture, color, shape, emotion and belief. Their framework is that of constant experimentation with themes that interact with my internal landscape. The movement of the paint, the textures and colors, the shaping of materials, the design of space; all create endless possibilities for improvisation.
I have studios in Somerville, MA and New Ipswich, NH and enjoy participating in the art communities in both areas. In New Hampshire my work has appeared in the Biennial Regional Jurors Choice Competition, Thorne Sagendorph Gallery, the Sharon Arts Center in Peterborough, and the Cunningham Gallery in Jaffrey. I have participated in the Monadnock Region’s Fall Foliage Art Studio Tour (FFAST) for the last several years. In the Somerville area, my paintings have been exhibited at the Bromfield Gallery and the MPG Gallery in Boston, the Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge, and the Somerville Historical Society. For the last 12 years, I have participated in the Somerville Open Studios.
