I am highly influenced by my background as a dancer. Line and form are my primary focus when creating new work. I am also constantly inspired by nature, although the colors I choose come from pure imagination. The result is a visual language that, while abstract, often feels somehow familiar.

I first learned felt making at Marshall University under professor Michael Cornfeld, along with spinning, dyeing, and weaving. I spent many happy hours in the school's light-filled top-floor weaving studio, working on a giant wooden countermarch loom. Weaving is a process that is completely predictable, and most of the variables can be accounted for. I find felting to be just the opposite: spontaneous and unpredictable.

Every work of fiber art that I make is absolutely one-of-a-kind. I begin with just idea or an image in mind. My process and the materials often dramatically transform the initial idea, so that the finished product is something absolutely unique and surprising. I hope you enjoy my pieces as much as I have enjoyed creating them!
