NEW: Find me this year at CRAFTWORK SOMERVILLE! I'll be exhibiting alongside a glorious abundance of textiles and fiber work from local artisans. From ceramics to hand-crafted wooden boards, knits, botanical dying, and shibori, jewelery and original works of art. Follow along on Instagram (craftworksomerville + michellebarrettceramics ) for all the of-the-moment updates, and don't miss it!

About me:

I find thematic inspiration from nature and urban living, and regularly incorporate subtle hand-painted, glazed, and carved elements that evoke memories of city, seaside, and woodland exploration.

The pieces go through a process of time and love during their making, and it is my intention that the inclusion of special, one of a kind ceramics brings the owner a deeper sense of connection to their day through their use.

In this fast-paced world full of temporary pleasures and fleeting trends, I hope that my ceramics find their way to you, call your attention to each impermanent moment, and bring joy.

(WABI-SABI: A comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. Characteristics include asymmetry, asperity, simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy, and the appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and processes).
