My delicate obsession is held within nature’s essence and my constant battle with pain, experiencing each moment and the need to escape reality. I endure this struggle that has lasted years, stemming from multiple car accidents, surgeries and an auto immune illness. Yet, these experiences give me strength. My ailments empower my art; through continuous exploration in coping with my capabilities, thus leads to new ways in creating.

A forbidden light caressed by the nocturnal, a forgotten lore and a new love. My paint changes in an instant from thick and matte, to soft and translucent. This transformation is an extension of my personality. I also look to found objects, old canvases with a history that was left behind. To create my abstractions, I invent environments that inspire the viewer to look further; to look past my pain and struggle - to let go of the moment, escape the dark contrast of reality and instead see a new beginning - Hope.

My art is also influenced by my experiences living in San Diego, traveling around the U.S. and Mexico. Another strong influence on my work is my experiences from my MFA program at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston with the low-residency program at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
