Printmaking for me is an exuberant, mysterious process. "Mistakes" and unintended happenings lead the way to unexpected creativity. Marking a plate is marking the unconscious and the dream that emerges is the artwork. Over the years my subjects have been animals, masks, words, fantasy figures, gardens and buildings. I have done a woodcut series as an exploration of childhood, fairy tales and personal memories. This past year I have been exploring places and time in relationship to houses. |
