It's here! The 18th annual Somerville Open Studios.
Over 350 local artists
are opening their studios and workshops to the public this weekend --
Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1, from noon to 6 pm. Some artists
will also open their studios
on Friday, April 29 from 6 to 9 pm.
All SOS events and locations are entirely free. There's no charge. There's no catch. Just come and be part of the community!
Not sure where to begin? Start your visit at our Artists' Choice Show at the Somerville Museum, which opens one hour earlier than the rest of SOS.

Changes since our printed mapbook went to press:
SOS will have an information table in Davis Square this year, but not in Union Square.
Museum of Modern Renaissance, 115 College Avenue, will be open for SOS 2016. We've added them to our online map as location #95.
The Gallery at Washington Street Studios will be open Friday night (as well as regular SOS hours Saturday and Sunday), with their annual group show on display. This year's show features photography by Eve Tyler-Hanig, Gretchen Graham, and Lee Kilpatrick.
Friends of the Healey School will be open Sunday only, 2-5pm.
Michelle Barrett Ceramics will be open Friday night, along with the other artists of Craftwork Somerville.
Laurinda Bedingfield and Betsey Henkels (at the Armory) and Colleen Kiely (at Vernon Street) are unable to participate in SOS this year.
Craftwork Somerville and Mixit Studios may not be fully accessible to all persons with disabilities.
The Artists' Choice Show at the Somerville Museum will remain on display through Saturday, May 21.
Artists' Choice Show at Somerville Museum.
The Artists' Choice Show, at the Somerville Museum, is a great place to survey the variety of art that SOS has to offer. Every participating SOS artist was invited to submit one work to this exhibit.
The Artists' Choice show is open Thursday 2-7 pm, Friday 2-9 pm, Saturday and Sunday 11 am - 6 pm. Come here first to plan out your SOS weekend.
At the Inside-OUT Gallery, in the windows of CVS in Davis Square, nine SOS artists are displaying work on the theme of "Greetings from Somerville / Wish You Were Here."
SOS Volunteer Show at Diesel Cafe.
The SOS Volunteer Show fills the walls of Davis Square's Diesel Cafe with work by the many people who make SOS happen each year. Diesel is open until 11 pm every night.
The SOS Kids' Art Show features work by Somerville's youngest artists. See it at Arts at the Armory Cafe, 191 Highland Ave.
